Maureen Colquhoun

1928-2021. Britain's first openly lesbian MP. After leaving her husband for a woman, she became the first MP to come out publicly as lesbian. She was later deselected by her party, with one colleague dismissing her advocacy as an 'obsession with trivialities such as women's rights.' Area: Politics.
